Sitkoh River Restoration Underway

The Forest Service and partners are working to restore the Sitkoh River
on Chichagoff Island to its former channel
The US Forest Service and partners Trout Unlimited, Alaska Department of Fish & Game, and Sitka Conservation Society have begun an important restoration of the SITKOH RIVER on Chichagoff Island. On June 13, the collaborative project prompted a media event in which broadcast and print media pros flew or boated to the site on the Sitka Ranger District for a firsthand look at the work that Tongass National Forest and SCS crews are doing on the ground. Here is a sampling of photos from that event...more will follow as work continues on this important river restoration project on the Tongass.

  1. I believe that the restoration of that river has been completed since it was began on June 13, 2012. Information like this one is very enlightening.

  2. A lot of recreational activities may be accomplished in the river. These activities are perfect for team building such as camping and river crossing.sound of rivers
