The train to Spencer Whistle Stop is on the track

As of May 28, the DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit, a self-propelled energy-effcient rail car) is running up the tracks from Anchorage and Girdwood to the Spencer Whistle Stop. One of the new jewels of the forest, on the Glacier Ranger District, the Whistle Stop is really only accessible by train, and only during the summer and early (Alaskan) fall months.

Check the schedule and make a reservation at the AKRR site.
