The 2nd Annual Wilderness Explorers Day Cruise

A group of people are gathered in the bow of the cruise ship, looking and smiling at the camera.

This Memorial Day weekend, the Chugach Children’s Forest, Alaska Geographic, and Wounded Warrior Project joined the Chugach National Forest for the 2nd Annual Wilderness Explorers Day Cruise on an amazing trip to Prince William Sound to see the Chugach National Forest's breathtaking Blackstone Bay!

On this cruise, participants experienced the health benefits and restorative effects of spending time in Alaska’s wild outdoors! Speakers from the Bureau of Land Management - Alaska, USFWS Alaska, USDA Forest Service, The Wilderness Society, Alaska National Parks, Alaska Marine Conservation Council, and many more agencies and nonprofits shared their personal stories about how they came to appreciate their public lands - and why spending time outdoors is a crucial part of their lives!

In recognition of Memorial Day, the cruise also provided an opportunity to recognize the men and women from the Wounded Warrior Project for their service and showcase a tangible example of the freedoms our military personnel protect.

This trip was made possible by the amazingly generous support of Major Marine Tours, Premier Alaska Tours and the National Park Trust!
